美國商務部8月26日公佈，7月耐久財訂單月減7.3%至2,266億美元，創2012年8月以來的最大減幅，為連續三個月增長之後首度下滑，主要受到飛機訂單減少的影響；不包括運輸設備的耐久財訂單月減0.6%成為1,569億美元，不包括國防設備的耐久財訂單月減6.7%至2,148億美元。根據彭博社的調查，經濟學家預估7月耐久財訂單將月減4.0%。

美國7月份運輸設備訂單月減19.4%至696.65億美元，其中汽車與零件訂單月增0.5%，非國防的飛機與零件訂單月減52.3%；根據波音公司官網的公告，其7月份飛機訂單為90架，遠低於6月份的287架。基本金屬產品訂單較前月持平為255億美元；加工金屬產品訂單月增0.4%至298億美元；機械類產品訂單較前月持平為350億美元；電腦與電子產品訂單月減3.6%至212.6億美元，其中通訊設備訂單月減5.5%，電腦與相關產品訂單月減19.9%。

7月份核心資本財訂單（除飛機外的非國防訂單，代表未來企業對電腦、電子與其他設備的投資）月減3.3%，核心資本財出貨（用於計算GDP報告當中的設備與軟體支出）月減1.5%。

彭博社報導，4Cast Inc.資深經濟學家Sean Incremona表示，全球的需求環境仍相當疲軟，美國國內的需求情況也不特別強勁，預期溫和增長的步調將持續到今年底，明年度或將稍微改善。
