根據台中市主計處最新公布的資料顯示，台中市103年全年平均失業率為3.9%，與新北市及高雄市同為六都最低；若按年齡別觀察，則以30至34歲年齡層降幅最大，達1.1%。

而為了解民間人力供應情形、勞動力就業狀況及人力發展趨勢，行政院主計總處委託市府主計處按月辦理人力資源調查，臺中市「104年2月人力資源調查」將於15日至28日進行調查，受訪對象為抽查樣本戶年滿15歲、自由從事經濟活動的民間人口，也請受訪戶於調查期間安心配合調查員進行訪查工作。
