火腿隊陽岱鋼7日對歐力士之戰，轟出本季個人第20支全壘打，再創個人生涯新高紀錄，不過此戰更重要的是大谷翔平轟出個人第10發紅不讓，單季勝投、全壘打都達雙位數，是世界棒球史上96年來的第一人，此戰最後，火腿4比8輸歐力士。

日本媒體報導，美國大聯盟1918年，當時效力紅襪隊的貝比魯斯單季贏得13勝、轟出11支全壘打；今年，20歲的大谷翔平8月26日對軟銀之戰先發7局失1分，贏得第10勝，今天對歐力士之戰，大谷翔平4局上接在陽岱鋼之後，從吉田一將手中轟出陽春砲，本季第10轟，日職史上第一位、也是世界棒球史上第二位「雙刀流」勝投、全壘打都達雙位數的球員。

陽岱鋼此戰打擊也有精采表現，除了4局上轟陽出陽春砲，3打數都是安打，有2分打點，本季打擊率2成85；陽岱鋼今年6月雖因左膝受傷，有1個月的時間未上場比賽，不過他依舊打破去年18轟紀錄，將自己單季最多全壘打紀錄創新高。

歐力士隊此戰洋砲WILY MO PENA四打數都是安打，包括1發陽春砲（本季第29轟），有2分打點，坂口智隆敲2安、5打點，是歐力士隊能贏球的功臣。
