喬治亞州1名父親今年6月上班時將1歲10個月大的兒子留在車上，導致兒子悶死，這名父親今天遭到大陪審團以惡意謀殺等8項罪名起訴，最高將處以死刑。

今年6月18日，33歲的哈里斯（Justin RossHarris）開車上班，卻將兒子獨自留在車上長達7小時，導致兒子在炎熱天氣下悶死。哈里斯從事發之初便向警方聲稱此案純屬意外，但檢警調查發現，哈里斯是預謀殺子。

喬治亞州柯布郡（Cobb County）法院大陪審團今天以惡意謀殺、重罪謀殺、一級虐待兒童罪等共計8項罪名起訴哈里斯。其中惡意謀殺（malice murder）罪名如果成立，最高將處以死刑。

起訴書指出，哈里斯故意將年僅1歲10個月大的兒子留在兒童安全座椅，關在溫度極高的車內，讓孩子承受嚴重身體痛苦，最後導致死亡。

檢方指出，哈里斯婚姻出軌，希望展開沒有小孩的新生活，曾經上網搜尋「車子溫度多高才能讓孩童死亡」等資料。(中央社)
